Inside the Basket - Nola Schrum, Balloon Fiesta Navigator

Nola Schrum is a first-year Balloon Fiesta Navigator.

In this month’s Inside the Basket, learn more about where you’ll find her during Balloon Fiesta and how she became involved.

1. Give a brief overview of your Balloon Fiesta role.

My role as a Navigator at the Information Booth will be offering guidance, leadership and confidence to guests, pilots and crew, fellow Navigators and staff.

2. This will be your first year as a Balloon Fiesta Navigator. What do you look forward to most about being involved with Balloon Fiesta in this capacity?

I look forward to learning more about my role in the Information Booth so that I can provide the most comprehensive information to visitors and staff. Ensuring accurate information promotes the most positive Balloon Fiesta experience for everyone.

3. Why did you choose to become a Navigator?

I learned about the Navigator role from one of my RV camping friends. I’ve always wanted to go to Balloon Fiesta and this seemed like a good opportunity to go and learn, as well as serve.

4. How did you become involved with Balloon Fiesta?

My friend who referred me, provided all the contact information to make an application which I did. The process was easy to follow!

5. What Balloon Fiesta balloon do you look forward to seeing the most?

Since this is my first time at the festival I have no preference. I have heard that the animated balloons are great. I have no doubt I will love them all. I’m very excited to be a part of this event.
