Dear balloon family and friends,

The worldwide pandemic, COVID-19, has affected everyone and the continual dedication of the frontline and essential workers through this time has been nothing short of remarkable. The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta would like to thank all of those who have and will continue to dedicate their skills and expertise to serving our communities throughout the world. In support of these efforts, we’d like to help share some uplifting news.

On October 3 and 4, 2020, many hot air balloon pilots will join together as a symbol of thanks, with a balloon launch called Lifting Spirits Around the World. Independent balloonists from around the world will take flight on these two days, flooding social media with pictures and videos of their flights, with one goal – thanking frontline and essential workers. Balloons put smiles on the faces of young and old and with the postponement of the 49th Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, we applaud the efforts of those pilots planning and participating in Lifting Spirits Around the World.
