Welcome Rainbow Ryders!

Rainbow Ryders, Inc. Sponsors the AIBF Navigators

We are excited to announce that Rainbow Ryders, Inc. is sponsoring Balloon Fiesta Navigators.

Rainbow Ryders, Inc. continues as the premier hot air balloon business serving the Southwest for over 32 years, offering scenic hot air balloon rides daily in Albuquerque, Phoenix / Scottsdale, Queen Creek / Mesa and Colorado Springs.

Scott Appelman is the founder and president of Rainbow Ryders, Inc. – the largest balloon ride business in New Mexico and Arizona – and one of the largest in the United States. Scott was one of the originators of the Balloon Fiesta’s “Balloon Glow” 1987 through 1992 and AIBF’s “Special Shapes Rodeo” in 1989 and 1990. Scott was honored with the Heritage Award from the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta in 2013.

In 1984, Scott established Rainbow Ryders, Inc. a commercial hot air balloon company offering balloon rides, tethers and balloon glows, corporate balloon promotions, instruction and all sales aspects of hot air ballooning.

Rainbow Ryders, Inc. operates 20 balloons year round launching over 1,950 hot air balloon flights per year. Rainbow Ryders’ pilots have flown in 45 states and managed events in Chihuahua and Guadalajara, Mexico.

Rainbow Ryders’ balloon pilots have over 180 years combined experience. They have flown over 35,000 hours carrying more than 250,000 passengers. They have flown over 22,000 passengers to date so far this year.  Pilot expertise and commitment to safety are two important reasons why Rainbow Ryders has been the OFFICIAL Hot Air Balloon Ride provider for the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta since 1999.

Rainbow Ryders has flown celebrities such as Kelsey Grammer, Brian Cranston, Tony Dorsett and Mary McCormack. They have also been a part of many film and video productions. Rainbow Ryders, Inc. has operated over 20 corporate balloons in the past 15 years- most recently Dos Equis, Phillips 66, Intel and New Mexico Pinon Coffee.

We thank Scott and the folks at Rainbow Ryders team for their support of AIBF and our great group of Navigators.
