Inside the Basket - Braylea Fisher, Balloon Fiesta Guest

Braylea Fisher was a a second-time guest at the 2019 Balloon Fiesta. And, with some Balloon Fiesta experience under her belt, she brought a first-time attendee to experience the wonder and awe.

In this month’s Inside the Basket, we’ll explore how she found Balloon Fiesta and her favorite tips for first-time attendees.

1. Give a brief overview of yourself and how you came to attend the 2019 Balloon Fiesta.

My name is Braylea Fisher, I’m a lifestyle and fashion blogger. I am always looking for the next best thing to share with my audience whether that be a trip or an outfit. When I came across the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, I knew this would be something they would love!

2. Two years ago when you first attended Balloon Fiesta, what surprised you the most about the event?

I was truly surprised by the amount of balloons that filled the sky and the sheer size of the event.

3. What brought you back to Balloon Fiesta?

I came back to Balloon Fiesta for a second time because the experience is truly amazing. The town is extremely welcoming and it’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. This time I brought a first-timer and it was amazing to be able to see someone experience the event for the first time.

4. What was your favorite part of Balloon Fiesta?

As you begin walking towards the field for the morning light show, there’s a feeling unlike any other. The air is cold, the crowd is quiet and the closer you get to the balloons, the bigger and bigger they get. As they flicker their torch, the anticipation builds. Nothing tops that first balloon going up in the air. The crowd cheering and a youthful feeling of excitement rises within you.

5. What was your favorite balloon?

I love the big green frog balloon!

6. What tips do you have for first-time Balloon Fiesta guests?

If it’s your first time attending the Balloon Fiesta I would suggest a few things. The first recommendation is to get there a little earlier than you originally planned. Don’t underestimate the lines to get in, or use one of the Park & Ride services! Secondly, grab a hot cocoa, it’s delicious. Lastly, take tons of photos but don’t forget to enjoy your time while you’re there!
